BMW has given a new twist to the current large bastanate Series 6. And is that with the BMW 6 Series Coupe Concept , the new model gives a slimmer appearance, elegant and classic, to which the German brand has accustomed us to its current 6 Series. And today, just start the Paris Motor Show, the Concept Car made an appearance.
This new more refined, is something that we saw in the concept car that BMW was in Beijing in April and was called Grand Coupé. Thus, the new 6 Series shares the visual form of the other recent BMW models, including Series 5, in addition to the overall visual appearance, also share much of their engines.
BMW plans to make the new 6 Series in the month of April. And of course, a new convertible version (with canvas roof), is scheduled to make his appearance before the end of next year.
The new BMW 6 Series has been designed under the supervision of Adrian van Hooydonk, whose Z9 Gran Turismo Concept in 1999 and broke the mold of BMW this year, establishing what is now the current 6 Series, and we hope that This new model also involves a revolution for the Bavarian brand.
In the presentation of the BMW 6 Series Coupé Concept, Adrian van Hooydonk said:
With this car, I feel I have come full circle. I was lucky enough to influence the current 6 series. And I’ve also been very involved in defining the new look of the Coupe Concept.
Although the model presented no longer a Concept Car, van Hooydonk confirms that the production version of the new Series 6, vary very little from what has been shown today. The only changes that are planned are the outer shells of the rearview mirrors, exhaust pipes, and a less extravagant wheels.
This new model, which includes van Hooydonk describes the front as “shark nose” along with some new lights, which will be offered the option of LEDs around, like a daytime running lights (as in this Concept Car)
In addition, we see a front grille slightly forward, and with wider air intakes on the lower bumper. Other main features is that the hood is longer than before, while in the rear, new light clusters on the L-shaped LED type, are similar to those of the new 5 Series.
From Munich, it was confirmed that the length of the car is practically the same, but slightly wider and lower. Thus, the final lengths are: 4820mm long, 1855mm wide and 1375mm high. In addition, the wheelbase is increased, which will affect the interior space, which in this case even more. The boot will remain in the current 450 liters.
On the inside of the car, this new BMW is the main feature, an asymmetric dashboard, which is the main console towards the driver, providing driving. The cabin has an asymmetrical dashboard that points to BMW in the early fishing center console slightly toward the driver.
BMW has yet to reveal the range of engines that will carry the new 6 Series. However, looking at the trend that follows other recent models of BMW, hopefully you have a turbo six-cylinder version and a V8, which will be the successors of the current 630i and 650i. As for the diesel versions, seems to be an engine Calre turbocharged six-cylinder diesel, as a continuation of the current 635d.
Of course, there will be an M6 version of this new model, and assume that a new bi-turbo V8 engine will be in charge of propelling this beast, but there is still time to know what will happen to the M6. We leave the gallery with photos of this spectacular model.
