Chevrolet Camaro 2011 special edition

12th
Oct. × ’10

The special editions are made for different reasons. One would be to raise a model editing “normal”, either mechanical or other distinct aesthetic. Another reason may be the subject of a political limitation to the production of a model. And there is another that has recently been enriched by the crisis, the special edition model to mark to be captivated. No matter which model it is and that segment, the homes of the auto industry have turned out a little on special editions of any model so turn up the pitch and sell.

Only 100 units of the 2011 Camaro convertible will go on the street. This model will be presented early in a book called Neiman Marcus, where the copy will apply its design line. One of the details in decor is burgundy tone with two lines so typical in a darker shade but with finesse, where GTSpirit called it “ghost stripes.” The trademark side gills surface, recall the old models and the Spirit of Camaro

The Neiman Marcus catalog debut was led by the Camaro convertible, which mounts the same mechanics as his friend, the SS, a 6.2-liter V8 engine of 400 hp with a manual gearbox increases to 426 hp. This mechanism is not released with the Camaro, is the same as used GMC in other models, although it is true that the performance varies depending on model.

Polished wheels 21 “on a character with an American as the Camaro. Some of the extras are LED halo headlights, Brembo disc brakes, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking assistant, and a stereo sound of 245 W Boston by the manufacturer. The final price of the model, does not seem excessive, $ 75,000. What if I think something is too limited a habit of doing just 100 units. The unique model, compared to the other, wearing a different colored paint as reflections of light, is convertible (it seems absurd and not knowing squeeze the most of a convertible model like this) and the inner and outer diene. To be limited to just 100 units, the only thing is you have a conventional convertible within the sport, others have been unable or unwilling to take.

Gallery buildings in Antarctica

antarctia01_11102010

Antarctica is a continent too complicated to install buildings: it is full of ice, no wind, so cold. The conditions are extreme and the landscape, clean and white. Thus, the Antarctic architecture has some special features that make their buildings as close to future lunar bases, but on Earth.

Initially, the wooden huts installed browsers, however, soon realized they needed something more durable – which ended with the creation of strange things that seem spacecraft, although rare forms behind there is always a objective, which is functionality.

Gallery after the jump.

First images of the next Dodge Charger

8th
Oct. × ’10

There seems almost nothing except the genuine Dodge Charger in its huge engines and which retains the label of muscle car, but you have to admit, is extremely beautiful, I love it. Now that Dodge is under the tutelage of Fiat, the Chargers will get a restyle that profoundly affects your back and to a lesser extent to the fore.

Starting in front, if you look the front bumper is modified in its lower part, where the central grid located between the Fog has a more pronounced curve upward, making it appear that the Charger is watching you in a bad mood. central grid, if it in itself is great, now more so. As for the back, you see the light cluster is bound to occupy the entire width of the Charger, which reminds me slightly to the rear of the Dodge Challenger. For its design has been used no more and no less than 164 LED bulbs.

From the inside were not disclosed by the time any photographs, but from Dodge Charger confirm that you are getting the latest technology such as a touchscreen navigation system, adaptive cruise control or blind spot control. The same applies to the engine, although it appears to mount a V6 for a V8 side and a second, which will have a power 309c.v. y 384c.v. and 384c.v.  respectively. It will also have standard rear-wheel drive and an optional integral.

The launch is scheduled between the end of this year and early next, reason why we will be kind to new new features and information regarding the cost that will have the new Charger.

A new format to replace the jpeg?

8th
Oct. × ’10

The jpeg format is always the most widespread image of the world. It has a great capacity for compression and is popular.  Now, if we optimize the bandwidth and make pages load faster would you be willing to accept a new format? Google proposes WebP which promises to reduce the file size up to 40% with virtually no loss of quality .

As we read in the blog Chromium , traditional forms of images are more than 10 years of reign and were created with the technology of that time. That’s why Google engineers decided to work on a format that would significantly reduce the size in bytes of the photos on the internet and make sites load faster outside.

But WebP is not the first attempt to dethrone the jpeg, before they were JPEG-2000 and JPEG XR from Microsoft, but were not successful among users.

I do not know if a massive change from jpg to WebP possible. Even though Google owns a lot of credibility among users a radical change would mean that browsers other than Chrome support the new format and technology companies, cameras and mobile devices launched updates enabling WebP recognize as valid a new format .

At the moment only available for download from Google Code to image converter that runs on Linux WebP. Promise that soon will be the Windows version.

To you who you think could it work?

Porsche 911 Speedster

5th
Oct. × ’10

A Porsche has appeared again, and not a any Porsche, we talked about the 911 Speedster. And it is that they have had to spend 16 years and three generations, so that this 911 Speedster returns to be in the catalogue of the Bavarian mark. In addition, according to it is rumored, apparently a version I disturb could arrive shortly.

This new model is the fourth model that takes place in series, and is based on the convertible version of the 911, with roots that date from 1948 (with Porsche 356). And in fact, to pay tribute to Porsche 356, Porsche Speedster will make only 356 the 911 vehicles of that will leave on sale in 2011.

Porsche has received many praises on the part of its 911, but recently it has received enough critics by his almost imperceptible changes in the 911, reason why it hopes that with the 911 Speedster of 2011 is able to silence these critics.

Like the Porsche Boxster Spyder, the 911 Speedster has a canvas ceiling (that is driven manually), that is used for little more than so that not between the water when it rains. Since the car is thought to circulate without him. The windshield is more inclined and the car is 60 mm lower.

Another touch retro of this model, is that after the seats, there is a cover with one double bubble under which the canvas takes shelter of the ceiling, and this first the 911 detail makes us remember Speedster of 1988. The imposing general aspect is seen still more observed, by the adoption of the body of last the 911 Race 4S Cabriolet, whose passages of wheel are 44 mm wider.

In addition this model has been created to celebrate the 25 Exclusively anniversary of the Porsche program (the program of personalisation of Porsche). And in fact, this last 911 Speedster receives an additional aileron in the base of the front bumper, indicating tinted, the lights and the frame of the windshield of a darker color and a back bumper with exits of air to the purest style of the 911 GT3.

It has the motor of 3.8 liters that Porsche uses in range 911, in this case with 408 CB (just as in the 911 Race GTS). This motor goes connection to the automatic gear box of double engages “PDK” of seven speeds, that transmits the force of the motor to the back wheels, through a differential of limited sliding. Also this model owns ceramic carbon brakes and (optative) and a system of adaptive damping, according to requires the road.

A spectacular car, and I leave a video you so that you prune to verify it:

Nevertheless, apparently this is not everything, say Porsche could follow the plan original of Porsche 356, with the introduction of a “Super Speedster” shortly after the launching of this automobile, and that probably incropore the same the 911 motor of Turbo. But this is only a rumor, at the moment.

will be available as of December of 2010 by €226,169.

Sell your photos via internet

4th
Oct. × ’10

I remember a hardware forum I participate a user has the following phrase in your signature: “Make good photos without merit. What is really difficult is you the pay “, I thought about it and I found some reason. Many are those who invest large sums of money in our photographic equipment. The question then is: win or recover some of the money invested?

And while internet is full of free photos and even some companies take photos “borrowed” without permission, there is sometimes too specific situations, or when time is short and can not produce an image bank of photos are great allies of the creative.

The business operates in very general terms as follows: you register a website specialized in selling photos. Please send your information, including your passport or an ID and a set of 10 or more photos in high resolution. Those photos must have a good technique, be properly edited and have a good resolution. If accepted, each time the web site sells your image, your account will be added to a sum of money, which varies according to site, and depending on how you sold your image. To accumulate a certain amount of money you can deposit via Paypal or check. The procedure differs according to the website in which you participate.

If you decide to sell your photos, always good to register with several sites to manage your images. The more, the better your chances to sell. Probably you will not make a millionaire, unless you’re a genius, but to go accessory shopping is not bad.

Places to sell your photos

Please note that some pay more than others. However, not always the highest payouts is the most sold. Can you earn $ 2 in any site to sell a photograph and other site pays you $ 0.25 per image sold. But if you sell a photo the first month and the second 20, you’ll see what I say is true.

Shutterstock : One of the largest banks in photos. They pay between $ 0.25 to $ 0.28 dollars per photo. Have-for now-more than twelve million images available. Payment is made via check or paypal and to register you must send your passport or proof of your identity. In addition to a set of photos. Not all are selected, but if you stay and good photos, you can earn good money.

BigStockPhoto : Here you get paid from 50 cents to U.S. $ 60 for special licenses. Their catalog includes more than five million images.

Istockphoto : On this website you will get a 20% of your photograph is sold and up to 40% if they are exclusive partner.

Fotolia : Fotolia assigns you credits for the sale of your photos. When you complete 50 credits can make them money. 1 credit = 1 €

In the article I mention 4 services know from testimonies of friends that get results. However there are many more options. Do you know another good service? I invite you to leave it in the comments.

Dogs can now write tweets

4th
Oct. × ’10

If you are someone who makes you wonder what your dog when left alone at home to go to work, and you can get the answer. Open his account on Twitter, and do you write tweets about what is being done throughout the day. Simple, is not it? As more than it seems …

Social networks give to all, and now even our pets to tell us how your day, thanks to a device created by Mattel for dogs on Twitter to communicate without the help of a human: PuppyTweets .

This is a sound and motion sensor that is placed on the dog’s collar, which comes with a USB receiver to plug into the computer and software that “translates” the signals received by the sensor in a series of messages that are written real-time profile of your pet.

How it works You open a Twitter profile to your dog (and you get your fan, obviously), install the software on the computer where your pet “tweet”, configure the account to the sensor will be placed on the collar, you connect the USB receiver to the computer and begin to read the messages of your dog. The price of the device is around $ 27 (about 20 euros) and is already on sale in online stores such as Amazon .

Of course, after a while you may get bored reading the same, because the tweets are sent from a “bank” that brings 500 messages stored in the Software and which are chosen at random, in relation to the movement or sensor that detects sound. So, if you decide to send a DM do not expect your dog to respond … for now.
